the company i work for was the title sponsor for three years of the fiesta bowl parade and during those three years i volunteered with my company to participate. one year i walked along with our "math, arts and sciences" education float and tossed candy to the crowd. the next year i rode on the float and just waved to the crowd and waived a banner. the third year we carried the arizona state flag balloon and yes, they are very difficult to handle. it was a total of 16 people carrying the balloon and i was at the front right. at some points if there is wind, or you are turning or spinning the balloon you actually have to drag is and it is surprisingly heavy. it is definitely a different perspective to march in a parade with 250,000 spectators, versus just watching it.

I knew an old bull rider when l was a kid, he had broken either leg 3 or 4 times, he broke his hip and back once. He broke either collar bone 3 times and either arm more times than he could count. Oh, and he broke every rib at least once. One of sweetest ol man you' would ever meet but tough, pared down to nothing but leather and barbwire.

A bunch of these weren't NFL, they were college teams.

In grad school linguistics we learned about speech communities and the best examples were the transatlantic variations from the old colonial empires not only in French but also English, Spanish and Portuguese. The languages evolved as variations because of the geographic separation.

Being from Florida, I never considered someone ignorant just because of their accent or because they speak broken English. I do believe people from other countries should learn English if they're going to live here because it is the most prevalent language here. What irritates me is people who move here and refuse to even try to learn the language. To my mind that refusal brands one as ignorant. If I were to go to another country even for a visit I would endeavor to learn enough of the language to get by. We have many Hispanics here who don't even try. They get jobs claiming to be bilingual but they are not. In stores if you ask them a question they ignore you and walk away. It's one of the reasons I quit shopping at Walmart. If I ever have a question at Walmart I'd have to wander around seeking someone who understands. Often after asking 4 or 5 different people I would just give up and go to Publix instead. There are Hispanics working there but at least they can communicate.

Angelina's grandmother Mery Zamani, her mother m Sara Astar's mom, is a workd famous poet and artist, she and Angelina work together on her videos and the art work, also clothes design! Mery is Iranian and her husband was Japanese, Angelina's dad is Norwegian! Angelina's two main influences are Billie Holiday and Elvis, that's why people keep comparing her to Amy Winehouse, they were both heavily influenced by yhose two! Love the Norwsy crowds and the traditional flowers in the hair!

An amazing talent, she is January to July younger than Angelina Jordan! Her voice is a higher timber than Angelina! She won the Voice Kids of Ukraine when she was 10! She is from Kazakhstan and moved to the US by herself at 13!

I'm always amazed that Angelina Jordan Astar has A Star in her name! Like many in the US I discovered her on AGT singing Bohemian Rhapsody!

The band KORK which is playing is a respected orchestra from Norway which always plays at the Noble Peace Price concerts in Norway. Angelina has sung with them at 2 of these concerts with them at 10 and 17 years of age. You should really listen to the second of these when they collaborate on Unchained Melody. It is the most beautiful music I have ever heard.

Unforunately for Angelina she is quite dangerous. She either makes you cry or just blows our minds

Cajun music is a combination of French music, Folk music, and Country music. That is what is unique about it.

Only Southern Louisiana is French. Northern Louisiana is the typical American South. Bossier City is a French name in Northern Louisiana outside of Shreveport. Americans don’t pronounce it the same way the French would. You’ll run into American names in Louisiana as well since English is overall the official language in Louisiana today.

That whole region was originally Acadia. It covered New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Parts of Quebec, and Northern Maine. Most of them were exiled by the British during the time of the 7 year war also known as the French and Indian War. The majority were shipped to Louisiana and those are the ones that are known today as Cajuns. They have a mixture of French and Southern US Culture and the accent is in between French and American South Accent. Cajuns are considered Acadians because they did not come directly from France. They came from that part of Canada that was once called Acadia. Some Acadians were shipped to other places when they got exiled but at least half were shipped to Louisiana and with the Southern influence the Cajun culture is different from the rest of the Acadian Culture. There were those that stood there ground in Acadia and Quebec and that is why we still have French Canadians today.

Definitely, go on D-Day, not just any day of the year. The Jeeps, the Sherman tanks , the thousands of soldiers in uniform, making it so much more memorable and real, than going on any other day of the year. And you need 7 days to see enough. I got there on June 2, immediately examining the Merville Batteries that same evening. And I left on June 7, when there were still a lot of important events on the 8th of June that I should have attended. You must include both week ends that surround June 6, to get the full experience. And you must plan to be inside the Normandy zone on June 6, 6am , because otherwise you are locked out for that entire day. I managed to get in by using my road bike, riding 65 km for the day. That is not for everybody: )

They even put up way more fences for the 80th D-Day event. I could not get anywhere near where you were . That is very sad. We cannot appreciate what our soldiers did for us, if we can t even get to the beach , or the cliffs they scaled, because we are too cowardly to let people get close to these sites.

June 6, 2024, D-Day +80 . I could not quite make it to Juno beach. French police had closed off all of Normandie to cars, and I had to park my car at a checkpoint 10 km south of Bayeux, taking my Peugeot bicycle to ride the 23km all the way to Gold beach, Arromanche, and Port En Besin. It was an epic day.

A tribute to our soldiers that paid the ultimate price for the freedom that we Americans and our European friends enjoy. We must defend our Western democracies and Constitutional Republicans against the threats from totalitarians inside our own countries, that we face today. Great video.

I kept my car filled up with gas all the time, because a lot of gas stations were pay card only, accepting none of my US credit cards or debit cards. So whenever I found a station with an attendant, I filled up. And they did take my credit cards. Very strange country : )

New Brunswick is Nouveau Brunswick and Nova Scotia is Nouvelle Ecosse in French. The French (Acadians) were along the shorelines of Nova Scotia (besides in New Brunswick). They were expelled by the English in 1755-1763, however some remained. Today, most Acadian French are found north of Yarmouth, along the shoreline into the Bay of Fundy area (up to Annapolis Valley/Port Royal area) and some in Cape Breton Island (look up Fort Louisbourg).

People from all nations need to go to these final resting places. These young men and women gave their lives for our freedom. May they all rest in peace and God bless them. Thank you for this video.

That is awesome to see a French person compare real French to Cajun dialect/Cajun French/Louisiana Creole. I would agree on the decision to visit Louisiana. If you haven’t gone yet make sure that you visit more than New Orleans and take a drive across Southern Louisiana. New Orleans has their own accent while the rest of Southern Louisiana has the actual Cajun Accent. Most of the French is going to be in South Louisiana. Northern Louisiana in the other hand is going to not be French because it is your typical South which is the Southeastern states. I would describe a Cajun Accent to be a combination of a French and Southern Accent. Hear what a Typical Southern accent sounds like and merge that in with the typical French accent and then you’ll notice it. A New Orleans accent in the other hand can sometimes be confused with a New York/Yankee accent. Definitely try a Cajun restaurant. Try the Gator bites/Alligator. I am more into the Cajun seafood. You have Cajun Catfish, Cajun Crawdads one other stuff but I think the overall Cajun food is going to be French food mixed with Southern style food. They have their own pasta as well.
